The Adventure Begins...

Hey there.

How do you begin to describe something that has been a childhood dream your entire life? And how can you be so certain that this is where you have been called to go?

All that I can say is that Africa has been a dream and now has been born into a reality.

I never thought that there would be so much preparation in going to a country! I guess when I went of my previous trips (the world tour with my siblings), we went to countries that had little to no risk. Today I called the Vaccination Clinic in Waterloo, Ontario. There seems to be alot of vaccinations and such that I missed out in growing up and living in a foreign country. Ha. Well, such is life.

The trip does not happen in another 6-7 months, but I've always be an advocate for preparation-in any way and every way possible.

When my parents and I were discussing my travel plans, we all agreed that this would be the ideal time in my life to go.Here I am, a 20 year old female, single, unattached, not studying, and I don't own a car or house. This is the prime time for an adventure and I am so excited for it to happen.

In essence I kind of see it as a trip of "self-discovery" if you will, going to Africa. Some of life's hardest questions can only be answered through an environment of change. It is when all that is familiar is stripped from you and you must face your fears, your dreams and your future. I want to experience life through their eyes, to get a glimpse of the harshness of their living conditions, and maybe in some way be able to help.

Please pray for me. My greatest desire to be open, transparent and compassionate.
